Would replacing the stock V6 muffler to a GT V8 muffler give a deeper tone to the muffler exhaust? Don't need to hear a drone in the interior while driving. Later down the road I hope to totally upgrade the exhaust system along with a upgraded cold air intake system and larger throttle body.
it'd be louder but unlikely to drone. Though the pipe diameters are different and I can't guarantee the hangers are the same, so it'd probably be better to get an aftermarket muffler for the V6.
There is no drone (none that I ever heard while I had the single muffler), and the GT axleback will bolt up just fine, overaxle pipe and muffler inlet diameters (it's all 2.5" after the cats) are the same and the hanger locations are also identical so it's a direct swap.
No Drone on my 2010 running the Single or after I put the Pypes X-Pipe, GT left over the axle pipe and left muffler on.
Biggest thing I noticed was a 2 MPG jump in gas mileage.

A mechanic told me that my gas mileage would improve because the engine could breath better. Sounds weird but I too noticed a slight improvement.
