TPMS question
I'm buying a set of stock 18" wheels from a 2011 Mustang GT for my 2012 V6. They have the original stock TPMS sensors in them. One question is, how many years do they last? Also, do I need to get a reset tool (I see them on Ebay) to make them work on my car? These rims will need new tires, so maybe I should just buy a new set of sensors and a reset tool when I get the new tires. I wouldn't want the batteries to run out after I get new tires, and have to take the tires off. I was thinking of trading the sensors with my original ones, but if they only last several years, that seems like a pain. Just wondering what to do...

well all i can tell you is the experience i have had, i bought my stock GT rims in 09 to upgrade from my stock 07 V6 rims. Last year I got new tires on my upgraded rims, when i bought new tires I watched the guys reset the tpms sensors to my car. I didnt have them set to my car till then. I didnt have them replace the tpms sensors and still have not had an issue with mine. If your concerned about them just ask the place your having your tires installed to check them. I have had mine since 09 and havent had an issue.
