What model year is the rear end from? If it is a 2011+ then you don't need to swap the flange because the 2005-2010 V6 will direct mount to it.
If it is a rear end from a 2005-10 model year GT then yes, you do have to swap the flange.

I wish I could find a 8.8 for a decent price. Most of the used ones I find, by the time I pay for the rear end plus freight and new gears I'd be better off buying a new one with gears installed from AM. What's the deal with people wanting 600-800+ bucks for their used 50K rear ends?

[QUOTE=Steve@Tasca;8367094]When swapping the flange you just have to be careful to re-torque the nut to the same spec it was previously so you don't alter the pinion depth which is controlled by a crush sleeve.
Would this be pinion depth or bearing preload?

Sorry for the delay responding, I'm no expert on building rear ends I just try to share the little bit I do know.
I believe it controls preload but someone more experienced than I am might be able to give a definite answer.

[QUOTE=Steve@Tasca;8377764]Pinion depth is set with shims, preload is controlled by the crush sleeve.
