Default Any way to improve idle ?

Hey guys I'm new to the forms. I just got my exhaust done on my 2005 v6 I got duals and flowmaster mufflers and I have to say I love the way it sounds nice and deep at low rpms and still sounds nice and high rpms not ricy at all . How ever the idle is to quiet for me I would want it just to be a little bit louder any suggestions ?

What duals? Do you have a cross-over (X or H) pipe?

I don't believe you can do much to increase the idle tone other than a different muffler than Flowmasters. Remember; it's a V6.

I have an x pipe , I've been thinking out shorties but I hear that it makes almost no difference

Any tune? A performance tune will enhance the the exhaust note some. Probably some remote adjustable exhaust cutouts would be just what the doctor ordered:-)

I've been looking in to electrical cutouts! I think that's the way I'm going to go that way I don't drive my self crazy with constant noise all the time ..I want to get the idle louder for when I show off and it think this would be perfect !

Before you go the route of cutouts, simply disconnect the axleback or the midpipe to see how it sounds with straight pipe (same as with cutouts). I've heard the 4.0 sounds dreadful with no muffs.

This would most likely be what it sounded like being as the factory manifolds are so close to a short tube header.

Might make people think you are getting ready for the demo derby?

Yeah, do that. I liked how my v6 (with divorced duals) sounded with straight-pipes and no mufflers.

But, it is a v6, and you can't make it idle nor sound like a v8.
