Alluminum driveshaft question + 7.5 - 8.8 rear end
I currently purchased a DSS driveshaft pics are attached . I went to my local shop that has done plenty of aftermarket work . They measured my current drive shaft which is stock and attached to my 7.5 in rear end.
It measured to be 53 inches stock.
The dss driveshaft i have is 51 inches. And has a 6 bolt pattern . I would like to install it to my stock 7.5 in rear end before i do the 8.8 in conversion.
Will this cobra adapter pinion fit my 7.5 in rear end ? With the dss driveshaft? Or do i have to do the 8.8 conversion first ?
The website from speed concepts doesnt state whether it comes with extra long bolts . My shop said i will need larger bolts .

Let me know what you guys think .
Current mods on my 07 V6 pony package
* shorty headers m2
* underdrive pulley asp w/ gates belt
* dual exhaust with resonators will be removed soon
* vmptune 91 jlt cai
* ported and polished throttle body with improved shaft for quick acceleration
* strut brace
* gt calipers and rotors
Called dss they dont know what driveshaft i have . Btw . No serial numbers or markings driveshaft is brand new just no packaging .

The 4.0 auto and manual transmission cars use 2 different length driveshafts so that could be the problem. I tried searching for the lengths but came up empty. DSS should have at least given you that info so you can tell if you have the right part.
The Cobra flange is needed on the 7.5 to make it the same bolt pattern as the 8.8, most of the ds builders use the 8.8 bolt pattern. I'll assume your ds has the 8.8 bolt pattern and you will need the Cobra flange installed on the 7.5.
Longer or larger bolts is not making sense, even if you use an adapter plate instead of swapping out the flange you still use the same bolts. I'm thinking you should try another speed shop.

dont ever buy a gt aluminum driveshaft for an 8.8 in swap on a v6 even the v6 driveshaft doesnt fit you have to get a custom length driveshaft. I am extremely happy with my car now.
8.8 in 3,55 with ford racing locker plus aluminum driveshaft, and custom tuning put me at 255 torque with other mods too

You don't need a GT driveshaft when you put the 8.8 on - because it is still located in the same spot. So you use the V6 driveshaft. If the rear end came out of a 2005-10 GT then you need to swap the flange. But if the rear end comes out of any 2011+ Mustang (all have the 8.8) it already has the correct flange on it and is a direct swap.
