I have a 2006 V6 mustang and just picked up a 2012 8.8 mustang GT rear with 3.73's from my understanding it is a direct swap. If I am incorrect can anyone advise and tell me what else I may need to purchase. Thanks

The 2012 rear end should be a direct swap. It is supposed to have the correct flange on it - but I have heard of at least one that needed the cobra flange swap

Mine needed the cobra flange. Supposed to have come off a 2012 Roush Package 3.73's.
I just checked ebay they've got 2 rear ends from 2012's one BOSS(3.73) and GT(3.15). Both of them would need the cobra flange.

I think that you are the one I heard about needing to swap the flange. Strange how some 2011+ come with the correct flange, but others don't. So best to be prepared for the flange swap and check it when you get the rear end.

IMHO, now would be a good time to upgrade the upper control arm to an adjustable one with poly bushings if you haven't already. everything else can be swapped easily. good luck

does someone know the answer to this? I just purchased one that has this same flange and I need to know if I need the cobra flange.

if it has the same flange then you have a few options as it is not a direct fit. You can get a cobra pinion flange, you can get an adapter or you can do what I did and buy a new aluminum drive shaft that has the GT pinion yoke already installed.
