Default rookie mistake - driveshaft

replacing my clutch on my '05 V6. I removed the driveshaft, but didn't pay attention to which end was attached to the tranny, and which to the rear end.

1. Does the orientation matter?
2. If so - can anyone clue me in on which end is which?

If it matters - one half is nice and smooth (round), and the other half is ridged...

Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure the collapsible section goes closest to the trans. I assume it matters but I'm not positive. If you have any vibration issues then I would swap it around.
