Default Human Brain: 1 OBDII: 0

So it's nice to know that sometimes... the human brain and it's powers of observation can still out-perform all of this computerized BS we have these days. Case in point.... lately, the Mustang has had this very brief and extremely intermittent... sort of... "miss". My human brain... (or what's left of it) recalls this as happening before... where... when... what vehicle... who knows... but it was all too familiar. Pursuant to further observation that it would stop depending on the WEATHER.... confirmed my suspicions that in fact it was time to replace the spark plug wires. Did that yesterday and all of the "missing"... vanished. So... I observed and correctly diagnosed the problem BEFORE the OBDII computer in the car did. So... off to challenge Deep Blue? Not hardly... I choose the battles I can win.

I once had a transmission shudder that was caused by loose spark plugs. The CEL never lit up, so I never thought to check the plugs. I ended up taking it to a dealer, where their fancy-shmancy computer diagnosed a misfire that OBDII was unable to detect.

That's a rather non-sequitur response, is it not?
