Unhappy Help! 07 Mustang trouble!

Hey guys, new member.
So today driving to college (07 mustang deluxe, Automatic 70k miles, purchased 5 months ago) this happened a few times. I started watching it, at 20mph, my rpm would shoot up to 5k+ and it would sound like i was revving without my foot even on the gas. I pulled over 3 different times to restart the engine, and it kept happening. The last time i pulled into a parking space, and when i tried reversing, nothing. It was like the car was stuck in park and the engine just revved. Anyone know what these two things mean? The car is at a dealer now but will be checked tomorrow. Im hoping its the transmission because i have 100% coverage up to 100k on that.
Thanks
Drew

Welcome to the forum Drew. In your thread you said "it sounded like the engine was revving" without any throttle being applied. Is that what you meant ? Or was the RPM actually higher ? From your discription, it does sound like a transmission problem .

Welcome, I would agree. It does sound like tranny issues.
