Default battery/alternator problems please help

yesterday when i was driving in my stang, i noticed my battery light was coming on when ever i was under 2000 rpm. decided to pull into a parking lot and turned my car off. when to start it again and heard clicking. my battery wasnt completely drained because radio was working and all the lights. my buddy gave me a ride home and i grabbed the battery out of my jeep, went back, and hooked it up.car fired right up and i drove home on the good jeep battery. on my way home, the battery light was still coming on under 2000 rpm. i charged both batteries over night and this morning i was still having the same problem. i dont know if you guys have any idea (but if you do) please let me know.

thanks

Off hand, sounds like you're ready for a new alternator. You could drive to an Auto Zone and have it checked free. The alternators on these cars are marginal, at best.

Thanks for reply. Checked it yesterday and it was bad. Replaced the alternator, now no light and running good

Although many here may know the answer but your best bet would be to ask here;

Not sure if you kept the new battery on the car or not, but sometimes if your alternator is starting to fail, it might have an effect on your battery - meaning you may need a new battery soon also.
