It's been awhile since I've been on the forums. I still have my 2005 4.0 Mustang (97K miles) and experienced my first engine issue.
This morning as I was pulling into my office parking area, the engine shut off and I lost power steering and brakes. The check engine light, oil light and a couple of others came on. The radio and defrost were still working. I had to struggle to turn, since the power steering went out. After I realized that the engine shut off, I was able to restart the car and drive to my parking space.

Anyone experience this issue?

If so, what was the resolution?

I am concerned for safety reasons. If I was going much faster, I could have wrecked into the entrance area due to losing power steering and brakes.

I'm tempted to say that it's fuel related so maybe a faulty fuel pump/relay.
In the old days with carburetors, engines were prone to vapor lock due to poor fuel hose routing (to close to exhaust manifold) but not likely to happen on a modern car system...
If not fuel related, the only thing I can think of would be a faulty ignition switch.

Wife's 1999 Acura CL did the exact same thing and it was the ignition switch.

Appreciate you guys pinging in. On a more positive note, it hasn't occurred since. I took it to the shop and they test drove it with no issues, so they told me it was working fine. Mystery I guess.....

Would that affect the power steering, though?

Since the power steering is run by a belt to the power steering unit, yes, if the engine isn't running you don't have power steering

No, only once thus far! Knock on wood.

It was a wet and rainy day, not sure if this played a role or not.
