Just curious to see what other people have pushed their cars to. I took mine to 125 last night. All i have on mine is Dynomax mufflers and a K&N filter. I know doing that on the street is pretty stupid, but it's not like we can do it at a quarter mile track. And the highway i was on is pretty empty at night. BTW i also have a 5speed. Felt like it was still pulling but i kinda chickened out. I'm sure it would have went about 135 and pretty much ran into a brick wall. LOL

I got mine to 170 . Then it dumped a valve [:@]. I love the interstates around here. Get this, the AVERAGE speed of traffic during rush hour is 100mph. [8D] .

Ive noticed that once you reach around 120 the car really doesn't pull that hard. Does it really make that much of a difference when you have a full exhaust and a intake? Or even long tubes a full exhaust and a intake? How much faster will you reach your top speed? I mean say if i raced a mustang 5speed with long tubes full exhaust and a intake how much faster will said person reach 130 or so?

Once you get around 120 or so, the wind resistance(drag), rolling resistance, and other factors increase exponentially. It takes an assload of power to keep on trucking and keep up the increase in acceleration. Gearing does a good job, since it's basic torque multiplication, but then you lose your top speed by a little bit on each ratio change anyway. There's more to it than that of course, but that's the basics.
