the intake will not work without adapters. I have done a 5.4 swap and to use the 4.6 intake we had to buy the adapters or vise versa. believe it or not autozone can get the adapter plates for you thats where we ordered them from. they where like close to 300 if I remember correctly.

Yes but you would be better off using a KB because the stock eaton is huge.

Kar Kraft sells intake adapters in multiple forms. They sell 5.0 and late model cobra intake adapters...671, carb, weber adapters, the list goes on.

Oh no you can't do that. I thought you meant a s/c 5.4 in a mustang. Well I suppose you could do it but it would be a lot of work. Similar to putting the 03 cobras eaton on a 2v. I think there is a sticky about why that's a horrible idea.

Well I may do the 5.4 swap but need ACCURATE INFO! Which adapter plate works the best? Would my SVO ported to PI heads work or should I go with the stock plastic intake and 70mm TB./plenum with torque the goal? It seems the SVO with adapters would place the COP's too high to make proper contact with the spark plugs so I think I aswered my own ?.
Cam choice is Crower stage 2 for npi heads as I will use NEWV Stock springs, this motor is not a high rpm motor. Specs are .532"/.532" & 220224* on a 114* LSA. Stock cams are 200209* and my present SHM #2730's have 230* duration, way too much even for 4.10's and 2800rpm stall converter. I have a 3400rpm stall converter now that locks at WOT in 2nd and 3rd gears and at part throttle in 2nd gear, nice, dropped .2 with the locks!
I will go with ebay Mahle flat tops and forged rods whose name I cannot rrmember, saves 2 lbs. of rotating weight. 10.x:1 compression. 5.4 has the pistons .100" in the hole so compression needs to be determined as I don't have the stock specs to use for comparison. Such as piston cc and head cc, anyone know?

The plates are the main issue as I have heard of leaks and misfit but maybe that has changed. Anyone have experience since this thread was started and how does a 5.4 run compared to a 4.6!
