some of the stage 2's require work due to piston slap.. VT's cams dont... you can run stage 1 or 2 cams with stock heads but with stage 2's youll need a valve spring upgrade.. i was simply saying if you have any head work after you put those cams in.. you might consider a tune to take advantage of the better flow

I agree, but you have to get a tune anyways cause the computer wont be able to compensate as well as it does for a stage 1. So plan in getting a tune in order for your car to run if you go with stage 2s...as well as the spring upgrade. And it also recommends some sort of intake and exhaust upgrade which you have but you never mentioned gears. VT recommends atleast a 3.55 gear in order to compensate for the lack of low end. Im not sure how critical it is, but id look into gears anyways seeing how they really improve acceleration and get you into the powerband a lot quicker...

I believe piston slap is the term used for when the cylinder is over bored and there is too much piston to wall clearance and the pistons slap inside the cylinder. What you are talking about is an issue with PTV (Piston To Valve)clearance, which is when the valve will hit the piston and put a 1/2 moon cut into the piston.

I had stage 2 cams in with just boltons, no other engine work, and while I did loose a few ft/lbs down low, I picked up 20 WHP peak and 30 WHP at redline... a pretty decent gain.
I would lag behind a bit on a stock cams car... and then walk away once I got into the powerband. They also have a very nice lope but don't idle so badly you can't handle it.
