Default Cam suggestions

Im wanting to install a cam on my 02 mustang gt, ive got 75mm tb, cold air, bbk lt headers, bbk h-pipe, and 2 chamber flows dumped at the axle. I want something that will sound incredible along with the performance, but i drive my car everyday so nothing too extreme. What do you guys recommend? Thanks Mike

+1 on VT stage 1's. you can check for some videos of them on youtube. They have a nice lope and with your dumps would sound killer.

I've seen some members say they didn't get the lope they wanted from the stage 1's. The stage 2's have good lope, but you do need head work to actually gain much from them.

I suggest getting a set of custom cams from Modular Powerhouse (MPH). You can call Tim and let him know your mods and plans with the car and he can get you a set of custom grind Comp Cams for the same price as off the shelf cams.

I have heard the stage 2 on a car similar to mine it sounded good. Am I going to lose performance in the bottom end by getting this, and what about an intake do I need a new one?

an intake is good if you plan on passing the redline with higher spinning forged internals... other than that its not necessary yet. stage 2's are aggressive and you should have head work with those.

What head work are you referring to? P&P? If so, is it really necessary or just a bonus to add some HP?

It was my question to 2002GTAutovert. Wanted to know what head work meant? Port and polish I suspect but just want to make sure. I am thinking of cams myself but not for a while. Need $$$$. Just wanted to know how much work was involved.
