Also...the dipsticks on this car are absolutely horrible. It's hard to get a good reading on them. Seems like the oil gets smeared all over the damn stick and you can't tell where the level is.

If you're reffering to the dingy burned look. Try using steel wool to clean the dip stick. Also, it can't hurt to scribe the full line a bit more.
