i recently bought a triple black 2002 mustang gt checked the oil and it was over full kinda made me paranoid because i thought it might be leakin water into the engine i was lazy and took it to wal mart to change the oil and when i got it back the paper said they put 5quarts in it i checked the dip stick and it was a half to a full quart over full so is it safe to run it that far over or what? i read some forums and people were saying six quarts is safe but i thought running it over full would put more pressure on the seals and **** like that isnt good on the engine. let me know something folks. thanks!

6 quarts is capacity. It changed from 5 to 6 whenever they went from the romeo to windsor or vice versa, don't remember. But like mid 2001 models forward hold 6 quarts. Also...the dipsticks on this car are absolutely horrible. It's hard to get a good reading on them. Seems like the oil gets smeared all over the damn stick and you can't tell where the level is.
