If you want better 0-60 performance, then yes. Is your Stang your DD? Do you take it to the track? Drive highway much? All of these things need to be considered. I'd be hesitant only if you did any substantial long distance highway driving. Otherwise, it's a cool move.
Why would you want to stay with 3.73's no matter what.
My heaviely modified 04 gt with 4.10's gets the same gas mileage as my wifes basicly stock 01 gt with stock 3.27 gears on a 45 min highway trip to nashville.
Soon she will get the 4.10s so I can go up to 4.30s.
not just gas mileage, but for 1/4 mile they are perfect. my old gt had 4.10's and i had worse 1/4 times. However, if he has a bit of mods 4.10's might be better but for me they ate up rpms and didn't stay in the right powerband to get better 1/4 times
I think it's a bad idea. I say don't go with less than a 4.30 (4.30 is as steep as you can go with a stock carrier)if you're staying NA. Go 4.56 or 4.88! Poll people that have them, they're freaking awsome. I even know a few FI guys with them, I've never heard a complainer. I'll be doing mine soon.
