So my CD player decided to stop working and I was wondering if anyone else had similar issues with their audio players. For a while it had trouble ejecting CDs so I had to kinda bang on the dash in the curve between the CD player and glovebox. This probably just made it worse but was a temporary solution. Now it won't read CDs or eject them. Any recommendations on a new CD player/radio? Has anyone else had this problem?

that's what I do too, but unfortunately my cds are stuck in the player so now I got to take it out and see if i can get the cds out. i need to get a new unit.
Mine does it quite a bit, I give it a couple good whacks and it starts working again. Its a pretty common problem as I understand. Interestingly, my 02 Ranger also has a CD-6 and it has never skipped a beat.
my stock 460 hu did that junk, i took the whole 460 system out a while back. got all new speakers, headunit and subs. sounds awesome and its very easy to connect mp3 players, like my iphone up too it. i suggest just getting an aftermarket headunit. i like pioneer's stuff.
mine does the same thing thats why i have a pair of tweazers to pull the cds out and sometimes when it changes disks it will stick and i just give it a love tap with my fist and problem solved!!!! its worked for a year and a half!!!! lol i tryed the whole radio reciver for my zune and it sounded like sh*t.

Thanks guys. I think I love tapped mine a little too hard and it finally just gave up. Time to start looking around and see what's available. Pioneer does have some good stuff too...
the whole unit can be reset..mine did the same thing 2 weeks ago disconnect the battery for about 3-5 min, then reconnect it. That worked for me and I haven't had any probs. since

Its not that simple for mine!!! lol the disk will get stuck while shuffling to another. Its either hit it or take it apart and move it manualy.
