Default drag radial choices

im looking at getting a set for a 17" rim. 2 questions?

1.) im looking at either the MT et street radial, hoosier drag radial, bfg dr, and the M & H drag radial. any input on what works good? i like the hoosier though.

2.) i have a set of 17x8 stock rims i dont use that i would rather mount the tires on. cant seem to find a lot of sizes for that rim. only 17x9. i would rather not but will if i have to mount them on my 17x10.5 rim but i would not b.c then i have to take off the race tire and put back on the street time after the play time. so what tire sizes can i run on the 8'' wide rim.

plan on running my gt and not cobra. still have the 3.27 gears too.

thx
