05+ is more accurate I believe, it has the IAT sensor built in, and I didnt want to use the stock setup becuase it goes from like 3 inch pipe to a 3.5 inch pipe back to 3 inch so you can use a 90 mm maf so that throws off the reading.

Its not a hard swap, you just have to splice the wires from your existing maf and connect them to an 05+ style connector

thats the exact same thing mine is doing you just described it better ...lol

Its almost normal in first but as soon as its under load in second/third gear its like blahhhhhhhh and wont rev past 4k.

I will be checking the MAF next tuesday hopefully so I will let you know how it goes.

Let me know if you figure anything out with your car.
i'm running a 90mm Lightning MAF. does yours act real strange at idle sometimes too, or just while driving? mine will idle fine for a while, then go extremely rich and idle like sh*t, then a few minutes later the a/f will lean back out to normal.

here's another thing i've noticed... when the car is holding a normal a/f ratio at idle and at steady cruising speeds, i have no trouble going to redline in 1st and 2nd gears. but if the car is running rich, i have the same "rev limiter" effect even in 2nd gear.

i'm really hoping it's the MAF, i'm tempted to just replace it cause i got it used anyway. i ran it for several months with no problems, but then my car ingested some water and hydrolocked, so i'm wondering if the water damaged the MAF (and yes, i've cleaned it real good).

btw, my MAF is before the blower so it's not in the "blow-through" configuration that yours is

I dont have a wideband so I dont know but it has been idling pretty ****ty, its up and down a lot more than it ever used to be.

Im assuming its the MAF since nothing else should be changing the a/f ratio so drastically

I had a bad blower seal so I was shooting oil on mine for a while

when you say it's "up and down", do you mean that the rpms will drop and then rev up on their own? mine does that at times... it'll be idling at about 1000 rpm, then drop to about 500, rev itself up to 1500, then back down to 500, over and over again until it dies out. and then one time it just decided it wanted to idle at 2200 rpm, so i shut it off and cranked it back up and the idle was normal.

Yea, basically....I cant 100% say its the sensor since everytime I move the thing it seems to change the idle.

Its not drastic like that, its just up and down a little when I first start it, then will idle at about 1k after it gets warmed up.
