i am sure this has been asked before somewhere but i did do searching and couldnt find a straight asnwer.
i just got an 03 GT manual and i want to change the oil. i was reading around but got mixed opinions as to what type of oil is best to use, regular blend or synthetic. i was thinking of getting royal purple and i dont mind spending the extra money for it.
also as for an oil filter, what is the best one you can get? i was going to get a K and N filter but if they arent good or there is something better i want to get that.
lastly i dont have a manual, and i was wondering how manu quarts of oil are needed for an oil change of my model?
thanks for the help

I use 6 quarts of 5w20 oil. Normally I use conventional, but this last time I switched to a synthetic blend. As far as the filter, I typically use fram. I am sure that there are guys on here that will swear by each of the products.

There is no best oil, but synthetics are better cause of the there cleaning agents and they can go longer without changing. Royal purple and k&n filter are both really good. Oh and mine takes 6qt. also

i would suggest stickin with whatever oil the previous owner(s) used. synthetics do last longer and are worth the money if you're willing to spend it. but if its not that big of a deal to you, then it would probably be better to use conventional, as to not "spoil" the engine (that is, if the previous owner(s) were using only conventional).
I use Royal Purple in mine. I was using Motorcraft 5w-20 until the warranty ran out then switched but still run 5w-20. As for a filter what ever you want I use Fram or K&N.

Theres been a lot of talk about how much oil is truely enough especailly for the later model new edges. The owners manual states 6 quarts but I've heard that basically it was discovered that 6 quarts is actually not quite enough and some people run 7. I've started to use a bit more than 6 since interestingly enough 6 quarts doesn't quite show full yet according to my dipstick.
