I wouldn't say its a problem but it seems to me like 5th is a bit more of a throw compared to the 2nd to 3rd throw thats all. I wouldn't read into it too much.

Do you have the comp/plus one or the billet/plus? Do you have a pic of it in your interior?

some people with 'alligator' arms have to reach further that normal to put in 5th b/c of the shorter length of the shifter. i have no problems with it though.

2-3 shift will always be faster and closer then a 4-5 shift with a 5 speed, regardless of shifter brand.

5th is an OD gear, the manufactures of these shifters never designed them to be slammed into OD.

Really?? I have the Tri-Ax (switched from 5.0) on my sh$tty TKO 500 and it finds 3rd at 5600-6000 rpm without any problems other than the noise the TKO makes

I've used the UPR Blue Thunder shifter for over 7 years now with no problem. BTW, take a walk through the pits at any NMRA event ....you won't see MGW shifters in any of the fast cars.

easier to change the level with all shifters except the MGW....I know they USED to come with different length handles in color codes but not anymore.
