Default Best shifter for banging gears?

So I've had my MGW as probably my first mod. Now that I'm going to the track really often i'm noticed for several months now that the MGW is pretty hard to get into 3rd when you are banging gears. Basically it seems like you gotta give it a lot of rightward effort otherwise it will jam inbetween the 1st and 3rd shift gates. I've spoken to several people about this before and they all seem to agree. One of my friends with an 01 cobra had a tri-ax and then switched to the MGW and mentioned that he has to pay a bit more attention to bang into 3rd.

I feel like I wanna try another shifter. I know the MGW will probably be the smoothest but I want something good for the track. I'm thinking of trying a pro 5.0 with a tri-ax handle (since I don't like how the pro 5.0 handle points the shift knob directly at you). Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks,
Brandon

It's not the shift knob that would be the problem it's the angle of the handle. But it's cool cause I heard a tri-ax handle bolts right up and it's under $30 new for it. I'll probably go that route.

Which mgw do ya have? I have no issues with 3rd as the shift returns dead center out of 2nd and just a light push up will put me in 3rd.

I think I have the latest one that came with the orange handle. It goes into 3rd just fine on the street in regular driving but banging gears is a slight different story

+1 I have the tri-ax and it finds a brick wall above a certain RPM. I have to speed shift rather than powershift.

I never miss third with my Pro-5.0....ever...The shift to fifth is a bit different as stated above but most of the time I only need to bang 1-4...
