Default Cigarette adaptor plug not working after shifter install

So I just installed a Hurst shifter to replace my MGW (****ing awesome, good bye MGW) and when I was first removing the leather boot console thingy, I forgot that the 12v plug was held down by the clip so I had some trouble trying to pull it apart. I was just fumbling with it and there was suddenly a small spark. Surprisingly I wasn't electricuted. I then realized how to unplug it and it went off easily. Installed the shifter, plugged everything back in, and now my cigarette plug won't work. I removed the console again to check the plug and it was in nice and snug.

Anyone know what the problem and fix is?

Thanks,
Brandon

Where did you find said shifter? I can only find them for 05+...

This thread caught my eye because my front 12V outlet does not work either. But mine hasn't worked since I bought the car. Let me know if you fix it!

Thanks for all the replies. I just didn't like the MGW. I bought it used off a guy in this forum but it seems to be for sale on Summitracing.com and etc. The fuse seems like what most people are telling me to check...where is it exactly?

Thanks,
Brandon

By the way the stock Hurst shift lever is really short and doesn't lay back very much at all. I used my factory lever instead. The Hurst shifter uses different sized bolts unlike stock/steeda/pro 5.0 which all seem to be the same. If you wanna use your stock shifter lever with the Hurst shifter, you gotta first remove the metal and all that rubber coupling crap and then buy this adaptor:

http://www.steeda.com/products/steed...r_bushings.php

The one with part #555-7098

This will allow it to easily bolt up. I love how the stock lever is a bit taller so I don't have to reach for gears anymore, yet the throw is still nice and short.

This is what it looks like when it is all said and done:

I already said you need to check the fuse, silly ... and you didn't mention you saw a spark

Don't worry, you won't get elecricuted on DC voltage, at least not on 12vts.

Under the driver side dash on the left side. the fuse is in the top right side corner when you are looking at the panel.
