Default Mustang Cobra Questions. . .

If I had a 2003 Mustang Cobra could I change the pulley to get more boost from the factory supercharger?

Will Mustang Get headers, H-pipe and catback fit on a Cobra?

I ask because I am considering trading my GT for a Cobra rather than supercharging my GT.

I also want to know what rear end gears the Cobra has and how much boost the engine can handle safely.

Your GT exhaust and Headers will not fit. You can certainly install a smaller pulley for more boost you will just need a tune. In terms of how much boost a termi Cobra can hold is a sh!t load of power 600-700 rwhp or more as these motor are already forged from the factory. I just do not know the max. 4v is a great modding platform.

lol you really dont know any thing about cobras lol.

yea ive seen cobras make 1000hp on a all stock motor!

so i think you have nothing to be worried about.

yes you can do a pulley swap to get more boost but you will need a tuner to.

03-04 cobra's have 3.55 gears from the factory.

your GT headers, h-pipe and catback wont fit on a 03-04 cobra.

I have 10k into my GT's power setup and I'm not breaking 590rw without upgrading my blower. If you do keep the GT start with the blower that will take you to the highest Hp you think you'd ever want to go.

+1 on the 10K. I recommend selling your GT and buying the cobra because a Cobra is simply worth more money. If you mod your GT in drop 7-10K you will never see that money again.

Something to think about.

Forgive me if i'm wrong.....but I see a lot of false information being thrown around about what the STOCK terminator can handle. What is the first part of the cobra motor to blow, and at what power level?

I know guys at the 850rw level with their 03/04s and have upgraded everything around the engine. I've heard of people being above that but haven't ever seen any in person. The internals are forged but they are far from the most ideal high Hp parts. My guess is it has to do with tuning for longevity more than anything.

OP - Do some homework on Terminators before you buy one because I can tell you know nothing on them. You can change your supercharger pulley to get more boost, their are different sizes. You also need to get a idler pulley at the same time as a supercharger pulley so you don't get belt slip. Also when changing the supercharger pulley you need to get it dyno tune at the same time.

You need to do your supporting mods first before increasing boost such as: Head Cooling Mod, IRS Brace and IRS bushings. Also I would do an intake/midpipe/catback before you mess with the pulley. DO YOUR HOMEWORK on them!
