Default SES Light on on a 32k 04 GT

The Service Engine Soon light came on last night while I was driving around the city at like 35mph going on 5th gear at barely 1k rpm. Ive heard that it can turn on just by simply not screwing the gas cap tightly. Its been about 2 weeks since I filled it up, so that rules that possibility out. What could this be, I'm in the process to figure out if the GT is still under manufacturer's warranty due to the low millage. I hope its nothing serious, the car seems to ride fine. I need help, thanks guys.

Why are you driving around in 5th gear at 35 mph? No your car is not under warranty.

Because I'm in the same boat as he is. My car was sold brand new in 05, and it just hit 36000 two weeks ago. The warranty ran up in 08.

YUP! the guy from auto zone said it read "emissions leak". He told me to get a new fuel cap and get the computer reset.
