whats to figure out??? use headers for a 96-98 cobra and youll be fine.
Yeah, that is what I will have to do. I am satisfied that this isn't too tough of a project, nor too expensive, so I am going to start pulling my engine tomorrow. I will do my very best to take pics and make a complete writeup on it.

yea man keep us posted to see how is everything going and put LT or atleast shorty... I am going to do that to my GT just waiting to save some more money to forged bottom.. right now I am working on the heads..
Power steering and A/C compressor removed and wired to the side
Starter and Exhaust removed
All fuel and vacuum lines removed
Motor Mounts disconnected
Throttle cable disconnected
Bellhousing bolts disconnected
Hood removed
Essentially everything required to pull the motor has been pulled. Would have gotten the whole engine pulled, but it got dark. All in all, that took me 4 hours. Next step is to remove the old engine and then I am going Lincoln hunting on Saturday. Primarily because that is when my dad can help me and I have access to his truck.

A little OT but what kind of engine hoist/puller is that? From the pictures it looks like a pretty effective, home made, set up.
Yeah, it's custom home made. My dad made it with angle iron and heavy duty swivel wheels as the feet, 2.5 inch electrical conduit for the base legs and 2 inch for the upper part so it slides into the lower part. He drilled holes in the upper part to allow a pin to go in. That allows for adjustable height and to keep the lower part from twisting. Then he welded a small chain in the middle of the top bar to attach a hoist.
It works well, but height is an issue, I had to push the car into the driveway since I couldn't get clearance under the car port. (Car port and Motorhome port are also custom made by my dad.)
