Default IW 10% OD crank pulley install

Well, I found an 8-rib IW 10% OD crank pulley used, and I went ahead and bought a 2.70" vortech pulley to put on the car. I got the crank pulley a couple of days ago, and I should have the 2.70" by Friday :bounce: .

I started the install last night for the crank pulley because I knew that I would have to grind a little of the front cover (by the crank sensor). I did that and put the pulley on. Now the darn pulley is hitting the TDC marks on the front cover. I used a piece of paper to check clearance all the way around and found that those little indicators on the front cover are resting on the pulley. Now, I have to remove the pulley and grind more on the cover.

Just thought I would give a heads-up to the next guy because the directions did not include grinding those down. I found that the 112.4" gates belt that was on the car before should fit perfectly with a 2.70 on there. With a 2.85........it fit but was very very tight.

Oh, and does anybody know what size bolt is used for the crank sensor. I lost mine!

Later,
Derrick

Running that setup, your idler pulley is going to hit it's back stop when it hits boost. Grind off the stopper to avoid shredding belts. pull the idler back and see how close it is to the stopper.

you know you're going to be over spinning the heck out of that blower right?

Post up pictures of your car and the progress.

You mean the idler pulley on the tensioner?

Yeah, I am gonna push the s-trim past it's limits before upgrading to a JT or YSI. I currently sit a 525rwhp, and am hoping for another 30-40rwhp with this setup.

I don't see any stopper? I have to go to the hardware store for more bolts to pull the crank pulley back off. The 3 sets of bolts that my puller came with don't fit.

I did get the crank sensor bolt. And I just got the 2.70" pulley today. I lost the keyway to the supercharger shaft for the pulley for a little while. I had to take the darn alternator off because it fell in the block valley.

I'm gonna make an appointment next week hopefully for a dynotune.

Later,
Derrick
