while i think the seafoam isnt a bad idea, it isnt going to remove all of the carbon and sludge unless you run a ton through it (multiple cans). Thats why I suggested to just remove the intake and do it by hand. If it was really gummed up, you could gain a couple hp and help gas mileage. Fuel injector cleaner and guaranteed to pass isnt the same thing. Fuel injector cleaner cleans out the intake side (injectors/intake valves) While the guaranteed to pass is meant to burn out deposits on the exhaust side like the exhaust valves and cats. It could be deposits from oil, fuel, or other things that accumulate in the exhaust. The guaranteed to pass only works for a short amount of time after you finish using it (if your using it on a car that isnt running right). Your supposed to pour it in a full tank of gas and run the whole tank out, then refill and go straight to the emissions testing station. It burns out the exhaust to lower Hcs, but if your car isnt running right they will rise back up the more you drive it. Comes from deposits building back up in the exhaust. On a normal running car all the deposits will be burned out from the heat of driving. You can take a brand new car to emissions and fail if it isnt warmed up beforehand

Start her up (preferabbly have someone to keep the engine running as it may want to stall). and spray away until the can is empty.

This cleans out all of the carbon, oil film, and sludge that builds up in the intake. Run it around no higher than medium throttle until you take it to get smogged. WOT tends to cause blowby because of the added pressure in the PCV system.
okay well my car definitly wasn't properly warmed up so that will be step one.

2nd, i'm going to get the guaranteed to pass fluid that do that.

3rd I will try and clean my intake...SOO (i'm not all that mechanically inclined)

I'll remove the silver tube from the intake, which is located somehwere around my wheel area, I can only get to the actual intake from under the car, it's a real pain. so after I remove that arm/tube I spray the cleaner into which part...the actual intake or the other side near the engine area....

THANKS!

Sorry, should clarify, High HC is blowby.

Anyways, any petroleum based product, gas, oil, diesel will have hydrocarbon risidual when burned. Oil just has the highest.
