Differential gearing question
Hey, I bought a used 99 GT recently. I'm the 4th owner so I'm not sure about everything thats been done to the car in the past. Anyway to get to the point.
Does anybody know if there is a way I can tell what my gear ratio is without tearing into the rearend? I want to know if it is stock or not. I figured there might be a way to find out using speed vs. rpm chart or something.??? Does anyone know of or have some kind of graph, chart, or specs that might show what say.. a stock 5 speed would be taching at a given speed???
Thanks !

RE: Differential gearing question
Here are the websites:
This is for RPM@speed calculator w/ certian gears. Should be able to figure out with this:
http://www.angelfire.com/fl/procrastination/rear.html
This is for tire diameter, which will be needed for the above test.

There is a sticky of this on one of the modding pages

RE: Differential gearing question
Hey thanks for the info and links! Worked liked a charm. I've still got a 3.27 rear end, although I had kind of hoped I would find different.
Once again I appreciate your help and really love this website! Very helpful for us newbies.
I'm one of the dudes who had to wait until almost midlife to afford a mustang. It was worth the wait!
