OK...I'm getting a 96' gt friday and have some questions. I was wondering if this model had any common problems (exp. 3000gts all have transmission probs). And what would be this best first mod. this car is bone stock (driven by an elder lady). I need to know the most efficent first mod cuz im playing baseball and only have enough cash for just one mod......untill i start working again.

I am not aware of any problems with the 96 GT. The first mod I would do is rear end gears. Either 3.73 or 4.10 will add some zip.

Awsome.....yeah i think thats what im gonna do.....prolly go with 4.10's even though it will kill tha miles per gallons..(why not go all tha way)...Also another question i know that the 97 gt's have more power. is it because of cams...heads...intake manifold ....or all three?

congrats on the car....first thing is but in some good syth oil! and a good air filter..yes and a set of 3:73 would be the best mod

Thanks on tha congrats.....im crazy excited..... yeah im defainlty going to change the oil and do all the schduled maintences right away.

97 has no more power...94-98 gt's all had 215hp, regardless if you got a 5.0 or 4.6

O...ok maybe im thinking of 99's if it is 99's do you know the differnce because if im not mistaken i think they have the same blocks.(im just wondering because i defaintly want my car hanging with the late models)

You thinking about the 2001-2004 power improved heads? You can upgrade but its expensive.

96=215hp
97-98=225hp (don't know why it's 10 higher)
99+=260 (PI heads as previously stated)
