Default Exhaust totals?

From what I've seen on here it looks like I'm gonna go with SLP catback along with an o/r h-pipe and LT's. So I was curious if you guys, considering most of you already have exhaust done, would be willing to give a rough estimate on how much to expect to pay for parts and then labor to have them installed (all the parts) vs how much it would be just for the parts and then putting it in by myself. I know that paying to have the job done isnt as fun as getting your hands dirty, but lets face it...I don't want to rip it apart and then not get it done and be sad I can't drive my baby.

Thanks guys.

Also any of the places you got your parts from would be nice too...especially if i can save abit of money...cause my highschool career/part time job just doesn't afford for much money to allocate to my car especially with loans [sm=headbang.gif]. Shipping costs would be nice too...

Default RE: Exhaust totals?

For parts and labor I would say about $1500.00.
For just the parts would be about $850.00, but it just depends on what brand H-pipe and headers you plan on getting.
And just so you know, if you get LT's, your gonna need a short midpipe, so it will fit with the LT's.

Not sure about shipping costs, but I would look at some of the sponsors websites to see what they can do. And I believe you can get a discount from some if you put in a password, but I dont know what it is.

If you are going with Magnaflow products, go to www.hottexhaust.com and use the coupon code FORDTRUCK8. You'll save quite a bit and get free shipping.

this is a rough guess on prices broken down

SLP Catback 350
Long Tube Headers 350-500
Shorty H Pipe(uncatted) 150's

Install 400-800
its gonna eat you alive if you try to do headers by yourself

To give you a real good idea of what the parts would cost, I will tell you what I bought. I also tacted on all the necessary accessories.

I got:

BBK LT's - $479
VRS o/r X - $185
SLP LM1's - $382

Those prices are all shipped.

I also added Stage 8 Locking header bolts, Percy header gaskets, and bbk MILs.

Total came to $1200 for parts. Labor was $600 (8 Hours). Expect about 4-8 hours of labor. Prices obviously differ. So in total parts + labor was $1800.

- I paid $400 for my BBK LT's and H Pipe shipped to my door, brand new. Got them from a guy on Ebay who sold his car and never got to put them on.
- I got my Catback from Partshopper for $360 shipped with the coupon code they have that saves $100.
- I paid $200 for all three pieces installed. Guy in my local Mustang club owns his own shop and specializes in Mustangs, gives me awesome deals on any installs I need and does top notch work. I have had two different sets of headers, switched from MAC to BBK's, he did them both. The second time around I just gave him the MAC LT's and he did the install for free and gave me some extra cash.

So just depends on who you know. I paid $960 for the entire setup, which isnt too bad, all brand new. If you cant find someone to install them for a good price and are mechanically inclined, Id say do it yourself. Just give youself plenty of time, a few days, take your time and ask any questions online. Then use the money you saved for more mods!

Well the Magnaflow X-Pipe you have is a Midpipe as well, so you would have to sell that and get a shorty (just a shorter version of an x or h pipe to match up to the LT's). You can get them from most exhaust sites, it will say Made for LT's.
