well one thing that sucks about a five speed is that warrantees do not cover clutches because the slutch is a worn item like a brake. well the best that you can get is a stage 2 clutch from pretty much whoever, really depends on what company you wanna stay with. when you change your clutch...MAKE sure you turn the flywheel. another cood clutch but very heavy clutch is the king cobra. grabs very good but will wear out a leg real fast. very heavy clutch. i plan on getting a stage 2 soon. but you have the t 45 and i have the tremec which is a lot lighter. i had 97 with a t 45 and king cobra and the clutch sucked in traffic. i got cramps at the light if i held it in first through a red light
Stop being such a ***** Haha, yea the king cobra is heavy. The first couple of weeks I had it my left knee killed. Now I am strong as bull and it doesnt phase me.

i got a king cobra clutch waiting to go in, and I did have the flywheel resurfaced. I can't wait! and the tranny is rebuilt, it's gonna shift nice!!! UGH i hate having my car apart I just wanna try this new clutch

i feel the stock clutch to be almost no resistance at all and it takes me no effort to push so in theory the king cobra kit will not be too bad...

i ordered mine from summit racing, it was $170 + $7 for summit alignment tool + $10 shipping= $187 to my door. Not a bad deal and it looks exactly like the stock clutch only it's got stiffer springs and better material.

and in theory the clutch should last as long as 100 k miles in some cases. It's all how the car gets driven and how gently it was broken in... i've known a few guys with 100k+ miles on their car with original clutch. I know a guy who bought a brand new evo 8 and he blew his clutch after 10000 miles because he is an idiot

Theres should be slack in the pedal, like you can pull up and its just free. If its tight then theres a possibility your clutch could possibly be touching.. doubtful thouhg.

A clutch can last the life of the car if treated right.

It could be anything making it smoke. From not turning the flywheel to not cleaning the flywheel.

Ya, I'm just not sure what is going on. The dealership said that they replaced the clutch and resurfaced the flywheel. I have only put 1400 miles on it since the replacement.
