pulley tensioner????

pulley tensioner????

so basically my friend and i are the worst at working on cars and we took the belt off and cant figure out how to put it back on because we dont know how to set the release on the pulley tensioner to lower the pulley enough to wrap the belt around it. Could someone please help us out cause we are like tweedle dee and tweedle dum with this car

A 3/8 ratchet will fit into the little square hole on the pulley. Turn clockwise and you`ll relieve the tension.

Insert a 3/8 extention (just the extension, not a socket) from a 3/8 rachet into the small hole at the top of the tensioner, and push downward on the handle. The tensioner will turn clockwise and release the tension enough to put the belt back on.
