I'd have to guess anywhere from 95-100 in 3rd with the 3.55s.

Denis, I have the 3.73 gear in my car, and I can still hit 100 in 3rd.

If it's not 100 it's so close. You really won't notice the higher RPMS because the 3.27 is too short for that car. Really, It runs about 400 RPMS higher then it used to.

WHEN I HAD A 2001 MUSTANG GT 5 SPEED, I WENT 99 MPH IN 3RD GEAR AND IT WAS JUST WINDING OUT. IT WAS PERFECT TIMING GOING THROUGH THE TRAPS AT 14.27. IT WAS ALL BONE STOCK, STOCK GEARING, SO WHAT EVER THAT IS... HOPE IT HELPS.

if you decide to go with the 3.55's you will reget it shortly after you drive it! I went with 3.73s in my 03 gt and that held me over for a while...I now wish I went with 4.10's. your motor needs to rev, and the 4.10s are perfect! I believe somewhere in one of these forums there is a gear calculator that would help you out if you wanna know different speeds in different gears! isnt there guys??

Yeah, there is a sticky at the top of the General Tech section that has a gear calc. It should tell you anything you need to know.

With a supercharger what is the best (safest) gear to go with 3:55 or 3:73s? And 2001 4.6s have the 8" rear right ? I just want to be sure before I order it. Thanks in advance for any knowledge you can share. I just want to wake this thing up a little.

If you are goign to supercharge soon than 3.73's is the highest I would go. 4.10's are to much and you could run out of gear before you trap.

If you plan on super charging in the next few years or something do the 4.10's and change out the rear end to 3.73 when you do supercharge. for 300. it would be worth it. I plan on doing a similar thing. i have 4.10 waiting to be installed and when I do supercharge i will be changing to 3.73s.
