Default RPM's Won't drop!

I have a 1998 GT and recently my cars has been maintaining the RPM's even after I put in the clutch, they only dorp to where they should be after I out it in gear. The process repeats itself and doesn't stop until I stop the engine. What do ya"ll think may be wrong. Only a few months ago I replaced the throttle positioning sensor so I wouldn't think that's the problem. Any suggestions?[:@]

that or you have a vaccum leak of some kind. do you have an aftermarket plenum? the C&L is known to leak and cause these problems, my car did.

Idle Air Control possibly?
Your symptoms sound similar to the ones I was having when
mine was was dirty.
I took it off and cleaned it and fixed the problem.

Had the same problem..I replaced the AIC valve and didn;t fix it. I fussed with the TPS and fixed it.
I was running around 2200rpm and settled to 1600.
Unplug your TPS harness with the engine running to see if the rpm's drop.
If so it's your TPS.

clean IAC usually gets dirty and causes the rpms to hang during shifts. #1 problem in mustangs...
