because you can't just get a couple of boltons and put in a set of cams and make 390 RWHP like you can with a LS1.

But, its only a 281 CI motor. I think the 4.6 responds pretty well to mods, but to make big power you must have some sort of FI, and that costs alot of money. I think thats why people bitch.

Well, what cracks me up is how ppl say that this motor, or that motor is sooo cheap to mod. Truth is that non are cheap. A friend has a Vette with a LS1 in it, and it was not cheap at all to add power. He did the bolt-ons and for all the money, he was in the same boat as us. Lot's-o-money, little HP. I'm sure the LS1 can make more HP from stock internals when all said and done, but remember you pay more for a Vette.

I also have a Chev 5.7L small block (2 wheel drive truck). Many people said, ohh, mods are so cheap, what are you waiting for? Well, mods where not cheap. s/c, ehxaust, cams.. what ever, was the same price, if not more, then the 4.6L mustang.

When I do get a chance to drive my stang, I'm always impressed how the car hauls ***, considering what I paid for it.

the only difference man is that the LS1 will make 390 RWHP with cams and boltons and the 2v 4.6 will make 280-300.

You have a low 12s car or a low 13s car, big difference.

Um, if it's a TBI motor you can get stock vortec heads and an LT1 cam and make decent power on that truck for cheap... And you can get headers for that 5.7L for $100 brand new vs $300 for the Stang. SBC's ARE cheaper to mod.

Oh, and lots of people can't afford T/A's or the insurance on them, so they got stangs...

Personally I love my stang, I am not displeased at all. I mean sure, it could be faster, but that brings in the fun of modding.
