What weight oil do you use?
I am currently using 10W30 Castrol GTX. The normal stuff, not the High Mileage or synthetic. The oil cap calls for 5W30. My dad says that 10W30 is too light of an oil, yet Ford calls for 5W30 which is a lighter oil. I live in Louisiana and it gets around 90 F. in the summer.
It has 87,000 Miles. So what oil should I use?

Don't mean to insult you but don't you get it? If it says 5w30 on the cap because 5w30 is what the damn car manufacturer recommends you to use. Oh, and i believe it's 5w20 not 5w30. [>:]

RE: What weight oil do you use?
I dont have a manual for my car, but in my dads 98 Mazda B4000 (Ford Ranger) Manual, which also has 5w30 on the cap, has a chart showing 5w30 for freezing 32F and below. It showed 10W30 to be used 120F to 32F. Which is the correct range for my location. I was wondering if it was the same for the mustang?

RE: What weight oil do you use?
For the Arizona summer heat (102+ degrees)
I just changed my oil from 5w30 to 10w30
I did use Valvoline Synthetic blend, but this last oil change (5/6/06) I used Mobil 1 Synthetic Blend and will use it for the rest of the time I own this car.
Mobile 1 is hands down the best oil on the market.
