Default Throttle Body???

I have heard of some fellow mustang drivers upgrading their throttle body. I was just wondering what is a good upgrade, what it does for you and about how much an upgrade would cost? Thanks.

Yea its a great upgrade... it basically allows you to suck more air into the engine basically by having a wider sircumference than your stock throttle body( works better with a CAI)... So when you hit the gas, you simpy feel more of an umph in lamence terms. You can get a BBK tb for arround 150-200 but its better to get it with the plenum which adds arround another 150 or so. Accufab makes great ones too but there more pricey..

Cost: Too much for the benefit on a stock 4.6.

If you're blown, you MAY notice a difference, but the stock TB is adequate. Don't expect to pick up any power, but you may feel a little bit more throttle response... also, this is made more useless without a plenum to go with it. A TB will be around $180, little less for a plenum, just look around on parts sales sites, they are easy to find.

Thanks for the input guys. .... Do I have to have CAI for this upgrade or will it work by itself?

You should really have a CAI since you are going to want to be able to increase the air with the added fuel. Dyno numbers your only looking at 2-5hp, but you wil have an improvement in throttle response. I think the plenum is more restrictive then the TB.

So for this upgrade to really even matter, I need to go with a new plenum, CAI and the TB. Thanks
