Remove chip or no?

Remove chip or no?
I currently have a C&L setup, as listed in my mods, and a diablo chip. Anyone think that these 2 might not mix? Twice now, over quite a bit of driving, the car has died after pushing in the clutch. Could the new MAM and the chip be causeing the car to run to rich? It seems to be much more bubbly now, and has backfired a couple times after extremely hard acceleration, aka between 2nd and 3rd while shifitng. Seems maybe im running to rich?
How do you think the headers/xpipe are going to effect this? Should have them on by monday.
Just wondering if I should set my chip back to the stock position, and leave it off?

RE: Remove chip or no?
This is why pre-burned chips suck.
You could give it a shot with the headers & x-pipe if you suspect you're running rich.
Chips absolutely suck. The only way to properly do it is to have it dyno tuned and allow them to burn you a chip. All motors are different, all motors require different amounts of fuel/air at all RPM's and this is exactly why so many people preach about never buying those pieces of crap.

RE: Remove chip or no?
I bought my chip because it was on sale, and because I can get it reburned for like 28 bucks, which makes it still cheaper than the chip with no sale.
I really dont think at this point a custom tune would be worth it. Surely with only bolt ons it hasnt changed that much??? I could be totally off base here.
Isnt the program that comes from diablo basically a stock program, just "More of it" aka just stepped up a notch to maximise high octane? Im just worried that the MAM and the chip could both be adding the same thing (re: fuel) and ending up adding to much? Is this really possible, or am I worrying about nothing.

like dan said, you could be running rich and the best way to take care of that would be to get a dyno tuned chip. you will definitly notice a differance if or when you get your car dyno tuned. they can change or modify just about everything they need to. if i were you, i would save some money and go get a dyno tuned chip. VERY GOOD INVESTMENT!

RE: Remove chip or no?
My experience is that a backfire out the exhaust is usually caused by a lean condition at the rpm you are at when the backfire occurs. This also depends on whether you are accelerating or decelerating. If this happens to be at a shift point it can be embarrasing.Get thee to a Dyno.

RE: Remove chip or no?
It is only after shifting, aka when you push in the clutch it will make a small pop, its not a running bad backfire.
Why would a lean condition make backfire? That doesnt make any since at all. A backfire is when unburnt fuel is in the exaust and ignites.
