ok guys, here's my dilemma - I want a deeper sound for my 98 gt vert. doesn't have to be obnoxiously loud, just a nice agressive growl would be great. all the posts i've seen say the h pipes give a deeper sound, but the x gives better hp gains. does the x really give that much of a substancial gain over the h in terms of hp gains? i'm running bone stock right now so anything would be an improvement!

no, x pipe is maybe 1 or 2 HP. I would def go with h pipe.

i used to always hear "X pipe always".... Well i know for a FACT, H will sound deeper and i think thats what your wanting

If you are planning on doing a lot of engine mods then I would say x-pipe.. but off a stock engine you are only looking at about max 2-3 extra ponies by going to an x-pipe. If deep sound is all you are looking for then I would say go with the h-pipe.
