Shorty headers vs Stock

RE: Shorty headers vs Stock
larger diameter, and there is an individual tube for each cylinder. the LT tubes are just a lot longer, hence their name LT. The shorties will improve sound, and performance, but not as much as the LT.
Yes, the x pipe will bolt to the stock exhaust manifold.

Looking at an x pipe and says it fits shorty headers. I still have the stock headers on.
Both shorties and stock are the same lenght correct?
Thanks

The overall lengths are similar but shorties have individual runners that are longer with a larger diameter. Shorty headers mainly give low end torque, but not much horsepower.

again, yes, the x pipe will bolt up to the stock exhaust manifold. I purchased a BBK x pipe without cats and it bolted up to the stock manifold, and I then purchased shorties and it also bolted up to that. It will work.

symantics
each tube on a header is longer than that of the stock manifold, and the manifold does not have individual tubes. the manufacturers of shorty headers us a jig to ensure that their headers will bolt up to stock applications. so, the shorty header will not be the "exact" overall lenght as the stock manifold (manufacturing tolerance), but it will be close enough that you would not be able to tell the difference, and it will bolt to stock exhaust.
