and is there a difference between the handheld and a burned chip for the puter other than not having to go to my mech to do a change?
yeah.. don't get a chip.. get a flash tuner.. with a chip its pretty much one time only.. if you make any changes that chip still stays the same.. unless you put in a new one. with a flash tuner you are able to make changes at any time and just flash the computer with the new changes. for the most part I think all flash tuner are about the same. they should all be fine as long as you use premium gas... I have the diablo predator... I like it.. its easy to use.. has good reviews.. but to each his own.

ORIGINAL: GreyStang

You know if you advance your ignition timing with a tuner you HAVE to use premium gas, or risk ping.
ya.. i did...

You have had bad luck. I am happy with my Hypertech so far. Going to the track tomorrow to find out what kind of a difference it has made so far.

no the tune is horrible. hypertech doesnt know how to make a tune. there horrible and there customer service sucks. i called them and told them i got my car dynoed and it was pinging they said i needed a 160 degree thermostat. So i went out and bought that and now it doesnt ping but whenever i install the tune feels like i lose power. Worst Chip Ever IMO. Only thing i use it for now is recalibrate the speedo. If i ever get a job SCT Tune is coming

So what would you recommend between SCT and Diablo?

sct. most tuning shops are turning to sct because there software is easy to use and has been proven to make power.

Its really just personal preference... if you are really concerned the boys at steeda deal with both sct and diablosport and they are pretty nice guys.. you could always shoot them an email asking their opinion and which they prefer.
