My car is put putting
I normally get 93 high test from mobil/chevron/ammaco , but i only had 25 bucks so i figured id just get mid grad 89 to preserve cash flow. I only drove to and from work and didnt really notice n e thing. However , when i went out to the races last night i noticed that above 2K rpms my car would SLIGHTY "put put" a little and when i go to floor it , it wont give all that it has. My friend (whose dad owns a shop) says that 89 and 93 dont mix well. Im hoping its that - or maybe spark plugs - or a gas filter. Anyone know whats up ???

Unless you have mods that require you to run higher than 87 octane, you are wasting money. If you don't have any mods and the car won't run on 87 then you have a problem somewhere.
Tell your friend that he's wrong, one octane rating will certainly mix with another.

In the south at sea-level my car will run great off the cheapest gas you can give it, but will ping slightly on tip-in above 3000K RPM when the temp gets into the 90's.
Never at WOT, but 89 gas is better when it gets hot for my car.

If you believe the car runs faster on 93 you're an idiot. It's in your head.
Unless you bump your timing you may be losing performance. I dont think you understand the concept of how it works.

I also think it might be that ammaco got cheap on me and threw some water into thier gas

Short and simple... the higher octane the slower the gas combusts. With the stock 10 degrees of timing (i believe its 10), all of the gas may not combust correctly hence slower performance. Odds are its not really hurting your performance much if at all... however you ARE wasting your money. It isn't benefiting you at all.
