correct me if im wrong, but the 99 cobra does not have forged internals. i totally agree though, i would have kept the mach. they are so sexy. comp orange...drool.

NOt sure about forged internals, though I think they do have them. Did you know a Mach1 has alum block AND alum heads? Hrm! Oh, and no, the 99 cobras had a t45, the 01s had t45/t3650. All 5 spd :-/ So yea, Mach1s are better :P

PS- Modding doesnt nessecarily void you're warranty; For example, if you add exhaust... and your tranny breaks a sycnro, the warranty still applies... unless they can prove you raced it :P Modding just voids the warranty on the parts involved.. Infact, it doesnt always do that. I had my stock H-pipe right side cat collapse on me (right after a race with an SVT lightning...) and they replaced it, despite the steeda catback... :-/

The 99 cobra has a forged crank but that's it. The same ****ty pistons and rods that the rest do. IMO I would have kept with the mach 1. Looks 10x better and I would perfer the solid axle.

The reason why only the crank is forged is because it redlines at nearly 7000 RPM's, and to support that many RPM's the crank needs to be beefed up.

aye, and the Mach1 (MT) have the same forged crank, so whats the difference? Mach1s are meaner looking, faster, better drag handling... and all around better car... oh yea, don't forget the retro gauges! Plus it's a Mach 1, which are even lower production #s than cobras..... :-p and that shaker hood... oh yea :P Oh and did I mention insurance is lower too? :P

I know that the 01's have a forged crank and I believe thats it but not sure... personally it depends on what your gonna do with it IMHO... road racing cobra irs, drag mach 1 solid axle, cobra... hell its a cobra. Ive got one and I might consider a straight up trade for a mach 1 but im not sure that I would pay much more for one. But hey im biased

ya i sold the mach for 17999. but i like the cobra body but i love the machs shaker hood. and i will be able to make the cobra faster with the money i have left from the mach. i bought the cobra with 60k on it for 12,000.not a bad deal its a damn good car. he changed the axles out to solid axles but it doesnt matter to me because nobody in irmo races from a dig they are all pussies.ive seen tons of cobras outrun machs but i think the cobra has forged internals and healthier heads that is what my research tells me. and what ford tells me haha.
