Ok i plan on buying a Mustang GT this month and i was just wondering which of these mustang GT's are the best i understand they are mostly the same however, but which would you recomend the 99, 00, 01, 02, or 03. Is the mach sound system really worth it? any output will help greatly!

I don't know about the details but just look for one that you can find with the least miles for the price, and is in the best condition as well. Age isn't everything. I know a guy who's gonna get a 95 GT with 50k on it, in MINT condition.

all i am asking is which mustang is the best to purchase is there a year that they sucked? and whick out of these years is the most powerfull and reliable?

i really like the 99- 04 models man thats what im looking for. i talked to my girlfriends mom tonight and she said she wouldnt co-sign a car with me so now im on my own i guess ill prob go with a 02 because of the mach sound system

between the 99-04 you are getting the same basic are with a few notable exceptions being that the 03-04's got different premium rims, the T-3650 and T-5 (I think that's the tranny not sure though) were sometimes used in random cars, and there was a compression change in 02 I believe. I am sure someone can chime in and fill in the gaps to my information. I am sorry I couldn't be more help.

the mach sound system goes back farther than that, if thats what youre worried about

are you wondering about the mach 460 sound system of the mach 1000...because i don't think the mach 1000 was worth if you bought it new it was an extra 1200 for 2 more amps and 2 10's in the trunk but if you buying used you may get a good deal on the total package which wouldn't be so bad for a ~1100 watt system, but if I were you don't worry about the system in it you could always put a decent one in. when buying one used make sure it is a decent car, test drive it a few times, check the blue book and make sure you get it inspected best off by a ford dealership. As far as the trans i have heard the T-5 has less problems(99-mid 01) compared to the T-36( mid 01-04) which I think had some issues witht the syncornizers, but not 100% on that just what i heard

99-01.5 T-45 tranny, windsor blocks
01.5-07 T-3650 tranny romeo blocks

also in 01 they redisigned the interior a little bit, and added the bullit wheels, the T-3650 tranny ok but if you have major power the syncros will go, my buddies mach 1 has already lost the 3rd gear synchro at 12k miles, i dont know anyone with major power and a T-45 but i have a friend with a 99 and boltons and its got 45k on it with no problems on it, but it gets babied more
