I thought the back seat weighed like 35-40lbs. It's the brackets that are the heavy parts, and then the seatbelts are like 5 or so which all add up to that 35-40.

Not even close man... The seats combined are about 8-11 lbs (bottom and back cushions) I took mine out to ready the install of my rear seat delete. I am going to mount my N2O on the delete instead of in the trunk. My vert has about 3 cubic feet of trunk space as is, so putting a nitrous bottle in the trunk isn't very appealing. Noone sits in my backseat anyway

As for brackets.... There really isn't any. The seat basically attaches directly to the fram of the car. There is seriously only two small bolts on the the bottom holding the back cushion in place, and two click-in style tabs under the bottom cushion. Removing the seatbelts is a total pain in the anus, and will lose you maybe 3lbs. I'm not expecting any weight reduction, in fact I'm willing to bet the rear seat delete weighs at least 5lb more than the damn seats I took out. But like I said, I'm not doing it for weight reduction so much as I am for preacticality and spacial issues.

The seatback does have a bracket that it mounts to the car to... It is where most of the weight comes from when taking out the rear seat.

Yeah, when I took mine out it weighed around 40lbs. The verts do not have that bracket so taking the rear seat out does very little.

well considering you are thinking in terms of your vert and he never said he had a vert.. I would say I'm a litter closer then you think. [sm=chairshot.gif]

But I do think it makes the car look alot more appealing, especially when you install racing seats in the front.

Keeps you from having to drive people places. You can be the guy who says "Who's driving, I only have a two seater"!
I love driving places with my friends in the back seat cause I only have to do it once and they will always drive from that day until I get a different car.
