Diablo vs. SCT Question - Something different...
alright, im trying to decide between the two, however -
it seems to me that diablo is great out of the box. it has preset tunes, and they are pretty easy to modify yourself and are pretty peppy without too much fiddling around.
but...
it seems that the SCT comes blank, and you cannot get a tune on it unless you have the vendor you bought it from do it for you, and it seems it is either difficult or not possible to create your own tune from scratch.
so, my point being - when you buy an SCT, is it that you are pretty much required to buy a tune from the vendor as well, whereas with the diablo, its pretty much plug and play? does this sound about right or is the SCT just as easy to tune with as the diablo?
im just about to plunk down cash on one, and i want to get the facts straight. thanks!

sct can hold three tunes. pretty much were ever you order it from will put one tune on it. try mustangtuning.com, they ask for all of your vehicle info and mods to give you a tune. it also comes with a cd and you can tweak it yourself. good product imo.

im still caught between what i want to do... you can get the diablo pretty cheap at mustang tuning with the $50 off and the discount code. the SCT is a bit more, plus its $25 for each additional tune...

I am looking to get the SCT X-Cal 2 from my local performance shop in a month or two after I get my X-pipe and pulleys on. They will provide it, install it and tune it for about $465 total. I figure that's not bad.
My question is, "Is it reasonable to ask them to give me two tunes?"
One to give me the best performance when running on 91 octane.
The second to give me the best fuel economy when running on 87 octane".
There seem to be many adjustments but I really want just the two options I mentioned.
Thanks.

i think i may just go for the diablo for now, given its price... if i want to get real specific later on (maybe a couple years) ill go with the SCT. either way, doesnt seem like you can lose.
