Default 2V or 4V

I'm looking for new ignition wires, and i have a choice between 2V or 4V and was wondering what, if any, was the difference, and what i need. I havea 1998 Mustang Gt, 4.6L, SOHC. Any suggestions on where to buy from, or what brand?

You need 2v. GT's are 2v SOHC and Cobra's are 4v DOHC. I think ford racing makes some that are pretty good or MSD.

I hope that was a joke?

But just in case.... they take the energy from your coil packs to the spark plugs, where it is used to jump the gap in the plug and ignite the gas!

Uh, I don't want to be mean, but if you have to ask that, you're probably better off not even opening your hood. Honestly, you need to learn about your car before you go putting your hands all over it. It's like a woman...you gotta take the time to get to know her before you get dirty....well, unless she's a *****. [:-]

More energy is carried by newer wires/better conductor/hotter = better sprak/ignition = more hp...smoother car in all. If they're old, change them...just like spark plugs. Do you let your car die before you change them?
